CUSTOM DUCK CALLS
THE TIMBERS Scroll down for a few photo samples of my custom duck calls. They are individually lathe turned from Australian grown timbers. I have some species of timber that are available all the time, and others are available periodically. Please check with me on availability when you order. The 'Classic' model has a full polycarbonate insert, where as the 'Classic Premium' has a turned timber exhaust with a polycarbonate tone board. 'Classic Premium' calls are priced at $135 and 'Classic Premium' calls in burl timber are $150. The various species of timber I use include:

THE FINISH LOW SHEEN OILED FINISH - This is now my standard finish on calls and the finish I recommend for most timbers. The call is dipped and then finished with multiple coats of Boiled Linseed Oil. This finish leaves the grain of the timber exposed and gives warm low sheen. The call is then finished with multiple coats of a shellac and wax friction polish. The oiled call doesn't show knocks and scrapes, but should be regularly oiled to protect the timber from the elements. The brass band is not coated and will dull with usage, but can be brought back to a shine with a polish of Brasso or similar metal polish.
