My passion is waterfowl hunting and I make duck calls to keep this passion alive for the entire year, and not just over duck season. I hunt all duck season in Victoria and squeeze in the odd hunt to other states of Australia or an international hunt to the USA, Canada or New Zealand.

When not hunting or call making I am actively involved with the Sale Branch of Field & Game Australia in wetland and waterfowl conservation.

In 2003 I started carving decoys of Australian ducks from high density cork and Aracauria timber. I found this a great way of intergrating my interest in wood-working with my passion of waterfowl hunting. In 2005 I progressed from soley carving decoys to hand turning duck calls from various Australian grown timbers. My calls became very popular and it soon came to the point that I had to devote all my time to call making and had to cease carving the decoys.

All my calls are individually hand turned without the use of templates or duplicating lathes. Whilst I do have a standard style, all calls are individuals. I make limited use of a measure and prefer to turn by eye.

The calls come boxed in a clear lidded display box and a camouflage lanyard is included in the price. A brass band is fitted to the call to enhance the looks and to reinforce the call. I have a laser engraving machine and can engrave calls with complex logos, an inscription or just a simple name.

I work alone and all the calls are individually handcrafted by me.
